  • Saddle - Brooks B17
Both
  • Both bikes have had rear cassette and chains replaced for 2017. Maggie has changed to 9 cogs from 7 on the rear cassette. Metrics for those so inclined are
  • Tires - Continental Travel Contact Trekking Tire  - 37 - 622 (700c) - so far these have proven to be very robust tires
  • MEC Aquanot Roll‑Top Panniers 20 litre = rocket and booster
  • ZĂ©fal Spy Mirror - new copies of these for this year. Some scratches in the old ones because of where they have to be and getting leaned into things.
  • Headlights - Cateye Volt 800 RC Front Light - USB charged. Planet Bike Blaze 2W Micro Red - in flashing mode it  interferes with the wireless bike computer so I placed the computer on the cross bar to solve this. With the heavy rains first encountered one of the lights quit working and was replaced with a USB charged Cateye Volt 800 RC Front Light in North Bay - the performance of this 800 light was fantastic. Both bikes now have the 800.
  • Tail lights - Planet Bike Superflash Turbo - Again, one of the lights did not hold out with the heavy rains however it returned to functioning normally and has not been a problem since. However both have been replaced with new versions of the same for 2017
  • Bell
  • Combination Locks - Matching code - we can lock them to each other, plus extra loop of cable we have yet to use
  • Eagle Creek - Pack It Clean Dirty Cubes, Pack It Half and Quarter Cubes, Pack It Half Tube Cube

  • no spandex/lycra, chamois, clips, special shoes ,or other racing gear
  • Thermos

  • Bear Spray
  • Reflective Vest for night time riding

  1. I can't find bike locks on your gear list. What do you secure your bikes with, when necessary?
